Henry Taylor

Henry Taylor is the author of six books of poems: The Horse Show at Midnight, An Afternoon of Pocket Billiards, The Flying Change, Understanding Fiction: Poems 1986-1996, Brief Candles: 101 Clerihews, and, in 2006, Crooked Run. He has also published a collection of essays on recent American poets, Compulsory Figures, and translations of Greek and Roman classical drama. Taylor has received the Pulitzer Prize in Poetry, fellowships in Creative Writing from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Witter Bynner Prize, the Michael Braude Light Verse Prize from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and the Aiken Taylor Award in Modern Poetry.
